Animals in Research
Every year, over 20 million animals are killed in U.S. medical, psychology, product and military laboratories, costing taxpayers billions of dollars. In the name of human health, animals are blinded, starved, mutilated, wounded, poisoned, electrocuted, burned, sleep-deprived and stressed beyond endurance, often without anesthesia.
Yet many experts find the correlation between animals and humans highly questionable. Furthermore, there are many viable and more accurate alternatives to using animals in research.
“The question is not, Can they reason? nor, Can they talk? but, Can they suffer?”
